XIX, XIV, XVII, XIII, And XX Roman Numerals In Number
I will be providing meaning to the following roman numerals XIX, XIV, XVII, XIII, and XX. Before this can be done, there are basic rules you must follow before expressing any roman numerals in numbers.
Firstly, in one of the articles I have written on this subject, I have explained the basic roman numerals rule. So, this rule will be a building block for us to solve XXIX, XIV, XVII, XIII, and XX.
Basically, this topic comprises of comprise of Latin alphabet (I, V, X, L, C, D and M) and I means 1, V = 5, X = 10, L = 50, C = 100, D = 500, and M = 1000.

XIX, XIV, XVII, XIII, and XX Roman Numerals
XIX Roman Numeral in Number
XIX = X + IX (note X is 10 and IX is 9)
The reason why I put IX together is that a smaller number must come before a bigger number.
And IX = 10 – 1 = 9
XIX = 10 + 9 = 19
XIV Roman Numeral in Number
XIV = X + IV (note IV is 4)
IV = 5 – 1 = 4
So, XIV = 10 + 4 = 14
XVII Roman Numeral in Number
XVII = X + V + I + I
So, XVII = 10 + 5 + 1 + 1 = 17
XIII Roman Numeral in Number
XIII = X + I + I + I
So, XIII = 10 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 13
XX Roman Numeral in Number
XX = X + X
So, XX = 10 + 10 = 20
In conclusion, the tabular representation will be shown below.
Roman Numerals | Number |
XIX | 19 |
XIV | 14 |
XVII | 17 |
XIII | 13 |
